GIRLS' DAY
GIRLS' DAY
GIRLS’ DAY is a special project that I will be working on indefinitely. I initially created the collection for an art show with Bler Magazine, but I enjoyed the process so much that I will be carrying on with the collection, releasing new pieces for the foreseeable future.
In debuting GIRLS’ DAY, the response was inspiring! Many viewers compared my girls to their own memories of Bratz and My Scene dolls. They saw themselves and their friends in the collection. People resonated with the over the top eyelashes, bright colors, and dynamic compositions; all of which are signature components of my artistic style. This feedback has encouraged me to continue moving forward with the project.
My dream for GIRLS’ DAY is that of vast expansion. The first release showcased seven different artworks, all encompassing different scenes from what I envisioned when thinking of a super-fun, girly-girl, fashion-forward day with my closest friends. From waking up in a messy bun and silk PJ’s, to bottomless pasta in an oversized booth, to ending the night under a disco ball, these pieces depict the best parts of girlhood.
I plan to grow GIRLS’ DAY to 100+ different artworks, all tied to a specific theme. The girls’ are going to travel, they are going to have careers, they might even get married and have families! The options are endless, and I plan to treat the process like a visual storybook. I would love to work with brands and designers eventually, creating specific GIRLS’ DAY collections in tandem with each other. This is a true passion project, and I am excited to see where my Girls will go!
